The Madness of Last Night's Presidential Debate
In a chaotic presidential debate, Kamala Harris stands firm against Trump’s wild claims, while celebrities rally for truth and change.
Last night, the stage was set for a showdown between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, but no one was prepared for the circus that followed. It wasn’t a debate—it was a spectacle. Trump went on about immigrants eating cats and dogs, women having abortions at nine months, and, shockingly, babies being executed after birth. Yes, you read that right.
As I watched this unfold, I couldn’t help but wonder: How did we get here? How is this even a conversation? I was appalled. The fact that this man can still captivate his audience with these outlandish claims is beyond comprehension. He reinforced what many of us have known for years—he’s dangerous, manipulative, and will say anything to keep his loyal base fired up.
But Kamala Harris didn’t flinch. She held her ground and baited Trump into his own web of lunacy.
Let’s Talk about what Donald Trump Left us.
She reminded us of what his last presidency left behind: the highest unemployment rate since the Great Depression, the worst health crisis of our lifetime, and an attack on our democracy like never before. Again and again, she hammered home the point—we must move forward, not backward, into another Trump era.
How are we allowing this madness to continue? What is happening to America?
After the debate, celebrities and influencers flooded social media to show their support for Kamala. Among them, Taylor Swift, one of the most influential voices in the country. People had been waiting to hear from her. And she did not disappoint.
She fully endorsed Kamala, urging her followers to vote, especially in light of the debate and the AI deepfakes falsely showing her supporting Trump. “The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth,” she wrote.
And she’s right.
And then, Elon Musk chimed in.
Musk, a vocal supporter of Trump, is not only further amplifying the misinformation and lies Trump ranted about in the debate, but he took to his own platform, X, to mock Swift’s endorsement with a bizarre comment: "Fine Taylor... you win... I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life." It was a clear attempt to derail a serious conversation with more noise and chaos. It’s weird, it’s dangerous, and quite frankly disturbing.
This is where we find ourselves today—unable to trust everything we see online, with men like Musk leveraging their platforms to create cult-like followings that blindly support them. We live in a time when the lines between fact and fiction blur more than ever, and those in power can spread misinformation unchecked. And if we don’t challenge this, the madness will only continue to grow.
So, what are we going to do about it?

AI Regulations Kick In—The End of the Wild West?
It was only a matter of time. The AI party is over, and now the rules are rolling in. The European Union’s AI Act just officially went live, marking the first major move to rein in artificial intelligence. For U.S. tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta, the landscape is about to change—and fast.
The World is Too Loud
Growing up, my mom would be driving, and if my brother and I were too loud, she'd yell, "Quiet down! I can't see!" I used to think that made no sense and was just another weird Latina thing to say. How could our noise affect her sight? But as I got older and developed a bit of driving anxiety myself, I realized how true that statement was.
